A safe space to heal, grow and find balance.

More than talk therapy
Welcome
to In Depth Psychotherapy!
Welcome to In Depth Psychotherapy. A Calgary- based practice specialized in attachment based psychodynamic psychotherapy. We use an approach that goes deeper than traditional talk therapy to uncover your unique attachment blueprint and the underlying emotional drivers for your struggles.
We may be a fit for you if:
*You have been to therapy, but haven’t seen any lasting change
*You feel stuck in the same patterns of behavior and can not seem to move forward
*You sense that something is holding you back, but you just can not get to the bottom of it
*You struggle with mood, depression, anxiety, trauma, self esteem, or life transitions
Our services extend beyond skill-based psychotherapy to allow for true reflection, understanding and healing. Our goal is not only to reduce suffering, but to create lasting change and personal growth, so you can live your best and most authentic life.

Hi, I am Leah, a registered Master’s-level Social Worker licensed in Alberta and Nova Scotia, specializing in dynamic psychotherapy. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Regina and Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary. I have received training in Dynamic Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Group Therapy, and Psychedelic-assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). I am also completing the Intensive Short-Term Psychodynamic Core Training.
For over 17 years, I have helped adults struggling with anxiety, depression, complex trauma, chronic illness, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties who find lasting change through attachment-based and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Through an attachment lens, I provide a personalized client-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed approach tailored to each client’s unique needs. I describe myself as an integrative therapist, who utilizes various therapeutic frameworks such as Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Mindfulness & Narrative Therapy.
I have significant clinical expertise in mental health and addiction, providing psychotherapy for various concerns such as complex trauma, chronic illness, anxiety, and depression. I have experience working in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient and outpatient mental health clinics. I primarily work with adults experiencing internal conflicts, interpersonal struggles, and severe mental health challenges.
My practice is grounded in kindness, respect, curiosity, and collaboration. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for greater self-understanding, resilience, and personal empowerment. I am dedicated to ongoing professional growth through consultation and collaboration with trusted colleagues in the mental health community. Recognizing that every client is unique, I tailor therapy to individual needs and goals, often taking a deeper, longer-term approach to support lasting and meaningful change.
What is Dynamic Psychotherapy?
-
Dynamic psychotherapy is a insight- orientated approach that helps people understand how unconscious thoughts, emotions, and past experiences may influence their current feelings, relationships, and behaviors.
-
It focuses on identifying recurring emotional patterns that may contribute to difficulties such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, or life transitions.
-
The therapy explores both present-day concerns and the ways earlier experiences may continue to affect current functioning.
-
Clients are encouraged to develop greater self-awareness, emotional insight, and understanding of their inner experiences.
-
The therapeutic relationship itself can provide valuable information about patterns of relating to others and can become a source of healing and growth.
-
Dynamic psychotherapy aims to address underlying causes of distress rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction.
-
Through reflection and exploration, clients can develop healthier coping strategies, improve relationships, and experience lasting emotional change.
-
Sessions are collaborative, confidential, and tailored to each individual's unique goals and circumstances.
"The goal is not to eliminate feelings but to learn from them"
